Now, who was it elevated Mandelson back to a position of power and influence following his earlier disgraces? His star mentee... Sir Keir Starmer... who had all the details of Mandelson's Epstein association to hand, but went ahead anyway...

That the very next sentence gives a name is suggestive. The proximity between that name, and the alleged blackmail is not an accident, surely?

The article goes on to discuss the more obvious reasons - that Epstein was able to blackmail his 'clients' by facilitating access to sex trafficked minors. As the article says:

"blackmail... some of these individuals."

The headline runs the risk of implying the rich and powerful are not at fault for their association with a known paedophile and sex trafficker, especially when the first reason given in answer is as below:

Q: Why the rich and powerful couldn't say no to Epstein?
A: "Charisma" apparently...

'...the disgraced financier would be dead in his prison cell - a result of suicide, according to a medical examiner.'

That 'according to a medical examiner' bit is surely a (deniable) suggestion that his death should be questioned (of course it should, is, but the BBC hinting this is interesting).
