I had zero enthusiasm for this event when it was announced... just no interest. I'd rather have the creators I follow tell their own stories than forced into one-offs for others.

Surprised not to see a KSR title show up.
Were short story collections allowed? Not surprised none made the list, but I suspect I'd have 1 in my top 10.

Appreciate your thoughts on this one. I remember seeing it on a bunch of SF lists & was intrigued as well.....then I looked deeper & it didn't think I'd enjoy it so I removed it from my TBR. Thinking I made the right choice....thanks for taking one for the team 🤣

S3 is definitely the most contentious among fans. I struggle most w/the 10 episode seasons. They try and give everyone on the bridge crew time to shine & intro new characters, but they lose focus & it feels really spread out & surface level at times. That said, I do hope you enjoy S3!!!

I have a love/hate relationship with SNW. The cast is perfect, but decisions by the studio hampers them at times. S1 was great, S2 not far off, but S3 missed the mark for me.

Woohoo!!! Thanks for the heads-up! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll eventually collect this along with The Knives into a deluxe HC like the previous 3 volumes. I'm a sucker for the oversized format. That said, I may end up double-dipping on this one 🤔

Can't wait to see what you uncover. You read a lot more widely than I do right now as far as genre goes, but I'll be interested to see what SciFi writers you end up resonating with. I've still got Liam Hogan's short story collection & Sinopticon on my buy list from your recs!

Yeah, paperback is the way I'll go if the kindle version doesn't go on sale. I wasn't even aware of this title.... outside of Lem I don't think I've read any Polish SF.

I love the slow development of the relationship between T'Pol & Trip. Those 20+ episode seasons really give it space & it feels organic. Love ENT 🖖
