I kinda think the way people use ChatGPT is sort of aspirational because it seems to emulate the way rich people have sycophants lying to them all the time until they lose touch with reality and also their entire minds

One great and terrible thing about having a large family of people who are pretty sane, is when they all agree on something that you want to do is bad. Unanimous???? Ah shit

Inspired by that whole "Christopher should go by toph" and "Patrick should be Trick", I realized that I can go by Lama instead of Selam. Also just "wit", but is a bit too on the nose

went to the movies for the first time since high school to see Sinners and WOW. I don't care for movies much but that was a well-written, beautiful, compelling film.

My favorite thing about being conversational bit not quite fluent is the random holes in my vocabulary. I was trying to figure out the word for "sins" and said, "you know, like biblical crimes"

One of the worst things about embracing nuance across my life has been knowing that I'm annoying to the people that I love. They can annoy me, but they should only feel unconditional love about me

In 2021 while I was coming back to Boston from Ethiopia, I almost missed the flight. The agent tried to tell me my flight was the following day, confirmed my first name, last name, departure and arrival cities. I needed to be at work so I knew my flight was that day. He let me come around and see +

Today I realized that the reason adults forget their ages isn't because they're in denial, it's just because it's not nearly as much a part of your identity as it is while you're growing up. Who cares about the difference between 28 and 33? WAYYYY fewer than those who care about 18 to 23!

The most surprising thing that I've told my nieces about myself is apparently that I've never been to Canada. Been to all seven continents, but not our northern neighbor

In the announcement on my promotion they mentioned that I "helped" with a project that I completed from start to finish and literally designed the solution for. The task was literally impossible when given to me and what they thought was a 3 week task ended up taking 5 months.
