ICYMI despite every reputable source reiterating that no one knows the exact day it will be revealed, hundreds, maybe THOUSANDS of half-life fans flooded every fan space with bad theories and misinformed hype, most of which confidently asserted that the game was DEFINITELY going to be revealed on one of the series anniversay dates, simply because a 4chan post said so. needless to say, that did not happen. the reddit in particular has been full of tantrums today

even just on a visual level, too many games are remade and remastered with so little regard for direction that the refreshed art can evoke completely different emotions than the original. this can only happen *and be accepted* by an audience that fundamentally does not treat these products like art
