Also I would like to note that the only two people who have survived these Trump attacks were ECUADORIAN and COLUMBIAN and NOT Venezuelan. And they were released within 24 hours. Not arrested. Not charged with crimes. Released. To their home countries. 8/

So the idea that we are just blowing these boats out of the water with NO chance of oversight or evidence or hearings or rights IS SO SO SO SO BAD. 7/

I’m not saying drug running is great, I’m saying this is an incredibly complicated issue that is being framed as though everyone on those boats is Pablo Escobar when in fact they’re generally starving farmers. 6/

They were not narcoterrorists. They were not the guys at the top, or even the guys anywhere close to the middle. They were nobodies who had no intel to give. THAT’S WHY THEY’RE THE ONES ON THE BOATS. 5/

Those people were mostly Ecuadorian farmers. Poorer than the poorest person you’ve ever met. Desperate. Desperate in ways that would make you agree to board a fishing boat with no fishing gear and haul a homemade sub filled with bricks of cocaine in order to feed your family 4/
