We are an international movement. We want safe passages and an end of the criminalisation of civil sea rescue. German: @seebruecke.bsky.social
While Germany continues to work on tightening asylum laws and misanthropic narratives dominate the political debate, the film reminds us of the real impact these policies have on people. Let's use the cinema screenings to talk about solidarity, open up spaces and strengthen local organising.

The film tells the stories of two Palestinian refugees who end up stranded in Athens, marked by a lack of prospects, structural violence and the consequences of Europe's policies of sealing off borders. Here you can find all the dates and cities that have been confirmed so far.

Only through access to their own, decentralised living space can people live freely and self-determinedly, with respect for their right to privacy and intimacy.

That is why we demand, in line with the No Camps Movement: No camps, anywhere! #NoLagerNowhere

The accommodation of refugees in camps and collective accommodation is and remains an inhumane practice of exclusion and isolation!

Such behaviour is disrespectful and degrading."

Women who have fled violence and oppression find themselves once again in situations of violence, humiliation and harassment in collective accommodation.

In reality, this means that security forces enter private rooms every evening – including those of women – to allegedly check who is present.
November 25, 2025 at 7:03 PM
The Refugee Café Göttingen also criticises the accommodation's statement: "The authorities claim that nightly checks at 10 p.m. are necessary for “fire safety reasons”.

The security staff knock very loudly on the doors. ‘And if you don't open the door in time, they enter our rooms, even if we are naked.’

The full letter in German, English and Farsi can be found on the website of the Refugee Café Göttingen.

This is extremely stressful for the residents.

On the third floor of the accommodation, where only women live, the situation is as follows: ‘Every day, the security staff wake us up at 10 p.m., sometimes even later, which significantly disrupts our sleeping habits.’
November 25, 2025 at 7:03 PM
The police enter the rooms in the middle of the night without knocking or giving the residents time to open the door, sometimes even when the residents are changing their clothes. If the police are looking for someone to be deported &cannot find them, they search all the rooms in the accommodation.

That's why we say: We stand up – together, visibly, unambiguously. Not because we all choose the same forms of action, but because we agree on one thing: Racism, fascism and exclusion have no place in our society.

@w1dersetzen.bsky.social is organising a large protest against this and will stand in the way of the founding of the AfD youth organisation in Giessen!

Thank you to the Society for Civil Rights (GFF) @freiheitsrechte.org , which filed the lawsuit together with the person concerned."

We expressly welcome this decision. It strengthens the rights of refugees, protects their dignity and provides counselling centres with an important tool to better support refugees.

Authorities may not circumvent fundamental rights by “entering” or vague “assumptions of danger”. The ruling prevents future unlawful door openings.
It sets clear limits against degrading and intimidating measures in the context of deportations.
