While Germany continues to work on tightening asylum laws and misanthropic narratives dominate the political debate, the film reminds us of the real impact these policies have on people. Let's use the cinema screenings to talk about solidarity, open up spaces and strengthen local organising.

The film tells the stories of two Palestinian refugees who end up stranded in Athens, marked by a lack of prospects, structural violence and the consequences of Europe's policies of sealing off borders. Here you can find all the dates and cities that have been confirmed so far.

Women who have fled violence and oppression find themselves once again in situations of violence, humiliation and harassment in collective accommodation.

In reality, this means that security forces enter private rooms every evening – including those of women – to allegedly check who is present.

The Refugee Café Göttingen also criticises the accommodation's statement: "The authorities claim that nightly checks at 10 p.m. are necessary for “fire safety reasons”.

The security staff knock very loudly on the doors. ‘And if you don't open the door in time, they enter our rooms, even if we are naked.’

This is extremely stressful for the residents.

On the third floor of the accommodation, where only women live, the situation is as follows: ‘Every day, the security staff wake us up at 10 p.m., sometimes even later, which significantly disrupts our sleeping habits.’

The police enter the rooms in the middle of the night without knocking or giving the residents time to open the door, sometimes even when the residents are changing their clothes. If the police are looking for someone to be deported &cannot find them, they search all the rooms in the accommodation.
