Also, Biden wasn't even really tone deaf. He was right that it was actually good for most folks by 2023. The problem was that everyone constantly heard about how terrible it was. Yes, some were Suffering From Inflation™️. Most were angry & going on a record # of vacations.

I mean, a lot of those what-about-China? arguments were disingenuous and self-serving. Still, there does feel like a bit of a sea change in climate hawk and energy wonk circles regarding the level of awareness that China is now fully in charge of the global energy transition
For years, people argued that there's no point in taking climate action unless China is onboard. I'm at a COP30 event where Chinese government officials and renewable industry reps are outlining the fast-paced renewable energy transition and long-term carbon neutrality plan. The story has flipped.

I legitimately think this article misses the mark, because Canadians are not avoiding travel out of some principled boycott of the USA over tariffs.

Canadians who are avoiding the USA are seeing images of masked government thugs kidnapping people and teargassing children.

Toyota is using #COP30 to promote biofuel cars, but the science is clear: crop-based biofuels are a false solution that threaten forests, food security and the 1.5°C limit.

The world needs real zero-emission vehicles, not greenwashed detours.
Greenpeace calls on Toyota to stop greenwashing biofuel vehicles - Greenpeace East Asia
As the world converges at COP30 to confront the climate crisis, Greenpeace has condemned Toyota’s misleading promotion of biofuel-powered prototype vehicles as a decarbonisation solution.

I can see speed bumps on 4-lane streets where red lights are run regularly...NOT!!!
I just want kids to have schools that aren't filled with mould because of leaking roofs and for people to be able to go to a doctor and to not die while waiting for help on the floor of an overcrowded emergency room. Instead, I have a clown for a premier who does stuff like this.
NEW: The day before speed cameras across the province will be turned off, the Ford government has announced a $210 million pot for cities to build speed bumps and put up signs. #OnPoli #ToPoli

NYT had details of Trump's engagement with Jeffrey Epstein's child sex trafficking and *hid it for him*, at the same time it was crucifying Clinton as untrustworthy due to her document retention & security.

It’s not Epstein that has Trump and MAGA on the defensive. It’s not Epstein that had a former Prince stripped of his title.

It’s the survivors of Epstein’s abuse. It’s the women who refused to be silent.
