Some quick pointers for the government
🚨Asylum seekers are not, by any measure, "illegal migrants"
🚨The latest immigration stats have pretty much nothing to do with this government
🚨It's a genuinely weird flex to boast about making the country you govern less attractive

UK net migration falls sharply with drop in arrivals for work and study
Provisional figures for net migration to the UK show levels dropped to 204,000 in the year to June 2025.

The UK is in crisis with bills skyrocketing & families struggling to make ends meet

We need a transformative budget to make life affordable again

But it looks like what we're getting instead is half-measures

We need to fix the foundations - instead we've got a quick paint job

The 50 wealthiest families own more wealth than the bottom 50% of the population.

How can this Labour Government say this is a "cost of living" budget and refuse to tax the rich?

They care about protecting power and wealth. And cost of living is a buzz phrase for them. Dire.

So, #r4today reports on the Covid inquiry and the “too little, too late” Tory govt, then says they’ll be talking to *Lord* Gove about it. Ugh.
That just sums up so much that’s so very wrong with our politics and media.
Rewarding, rather than punishing, those responsible for failing us all.

I am a cis woman.

My hair is short.

I don't wear skirts or heels.

My son is more likely to wear makeup and jewellery than I am.

Looking forward to being denied services due to my "appearance" because of the transphobia of a few vocal hate-filled bigots who dare to call themselves feminists!
Fixed it for you. Idiots! If the exclusion is based on appearance then it will certainly impact cis folks as well as trans folks.

Finally people saying this out-loud
Shabana Mahmood says she's called a "fucking paki" to defend Labour's refugee policy.

She's doing what every non-white conservative has been doing for years:
Weaponizing her skin colour to defend a racist agenda.

But she's not the problem. Keir Starmer is.

Starmer’s anti-asylum policies show how utterly clueless he is about the right-wing media’s role in politics.

He’s trying to fix a “problem” contrived by Farage, GB News and The Telegraph. He’ll never win, because ultimately he’s fighting a ghost – he’s fighting something that doesn’t really exist

A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

Deep breath, once more for those at the back, seeking asylum is not illegal. No matter route used, which considering Labour has closed pretty much all the last remaining alternatives means irregular ones.
Anti-immigration sentiments are stoked by politicians like Mahmood, not people seeking safety.

Yet again and POC is parading this racism for a supremacy that will never accept them.

Having one of us deliver these blows doesn’t make it any less terrible.
Labour are now the "darker forces" Mahmood is scaremongering about. Depriving people who have fled unimaginable horror the ability to rebuild their lives in safety and security, which this does, is sickening. Labour is sickening.
