Oh, sounds cool :) .

Now you've got me curious 😀 !

I disagree with the OP's take on AI in fiction, but I would guess "LLM-like entity that thinks" is probably kinda the reason he's put that out there.

Anyway, I envy you for writing what you want to, so keep having fun and best success (even if I wouldn't roll with your premise 😉) !

lol, it looks like that on second viewing, yeah!

To think the man on left once was actually someone who had self-respect.

Ok, looked into it some more, and his big claim in the interview is that the Pipebombs on January 6th were an "inside job", so yeah, I guess maybe the issue is he's stretching his credibility pretty badly in general... :/ .

What I was thinking.

If this is real (and I saw a link to the entire interview, so I'm assuming yes), then why aren't other outlets either running this or asking Massie about it ?!?

Japan: Embeds its military on Taiwan.

(OK, not quite, but close enough if you check the map - I can say I was surprised!).

I wrestled with this question - privately and with friends - last summer (when it looked to me increasingly likely that the outcome would be - what we have now 😔).

But you're right, it was practically non-existant in public discourse.

No, you're right. It's up to us.

.. As is the fact that there has been almost zero calling out of the US regimes authoritarian actions!)

I think the reason the EU and its members have been so glib is due to wanting to keep US support for Ukraine.

I guess we might see that hypothesis tested when Ukraine refuses to give up, and the US cuts all support.

(But just so you know - the EUs reaction to tariff threats was infuriating to me..

If this becomes the more widespread view of things, there's no stopping the mag 7 tanking significantly.

He has a great analogy about LLMs vs AGI.

Student A is LLMs: they’ve memorized every textbook and ace familiar tests, but fail when patterns break.

Student B is AGI: they grasp first principles, reason through new problems, and don’t depend on memorization. The age of research is about Student B.

Took me a while to realize this, and I think its the most significantly *not* understood point by most people with only passing knowledge of how LLMs work.
(Many of which still believe the hype / believe it has great short term potential).

Which you're trying to say is fine and totally unproblematic?
Interesting take ...

*pre-mRNA

(is what I meant to write...)

ie, came / was developed before the first mRNA vaccines - those against Covid - were deployed.
November 26, 2025 at 6:16 PM
I think the vaccine against the virus that is a root cause of cervical cancer is per-mRNA vaccines (and is a traditional vaccine).

But I think your statement is also true (funding for research on mRNA vaccines has been slashed / dropped).

Not really, no. Only at an *extraordinarily* superficial level.
