You should read up on the longterm financial feasibility of urban sprawl. Unless those single family homes want to pay higher tax rates, they aren't viable for a municipality.

Show me a suburban neighbourhood with single family homes that's financially self sufficient and isn't subsidized by the nearest downtown, and I'll change my viewpoint. I'm open to changing it, I just need to see the data that proves something different.

The types of homes will matter here. Canadian cities cannot afford the longterm maintenance of suburban sprawl - the tax base simply can't cover the costs. Canadian cities need more densification, especially around transit nodes.

I understand the, less than ideal, logistics behind operating two types of fighter jets and the fact that Canada is confirmed for 16/88 F35s already.

I haven't heard anything about the possibility of flipping those 16 to an allied nation and then rolling with a full fleet of only Gripens.

It's been 131 days since Trump threatened Putin with a 50-day deadline. Instead, he wants Ukraine to sign a deal that hands over, currently controlled, territory to Russia.

You mean to tell me that tariffs increase prices for Americans?

As I wrote to Doug Ford's office - the blood of the first child to die on a stretch of road where a camera once stood, will be on his hands.

Save the current camera locations and cross reference whenever a pedestrian is struck.

Every chance Doug gets, he moves us closer to the American mindset.

Sheesh! How much money does our city lose out on from tax-exempt religious institutions. I feel like this is another major topic that could be debated at length.

Doug Ford is moving Ontario laws in line with American ways of thinking when we should be moving towards European ways of thinking.

He talks a big game against Trump, but at the end of the day, he's not that different.

Your projections for Lansdowne 1.0 were far off and has cost the City much more.

Can the City tell us what the downside risks are here and what the exposure is for the taxpayers if the projections are just as inaccurate this time around?

The residents of Ottawa deserve to know.

It's a shame all the rural and suburban councilors have a larger say in how downtown operates against the wishes of the downtown residents and councilors.

Don't leave this at a thoughts-and-prayers-US-gun-control style post. Take action to make our streets safer, Mr Mayor. We can seriously change the way we design our streets to reduce the likelihood of these tragic events from happening again.
