Career journalist now Chief of Content for InDro Robotics. Former CBC National News, Toronto Star. Co-author three real best-selling books (two on mental health, one on Tiananmen Square). Worked in China, Moscow. Amateur photographer. Funny - but not odd.

Recent find. Me, a *very* long time ago, drumming for #China's biggest rock star - #CuiJian. His band opened for The Rolling Stones in Shanghai in 2014. He still plays, is still famous, and also makes films. Great guy.

Shoulda kept that gig.
@justinling.ca Just wrapping up binge-listening The Village. Really outstanding work, Justin. I listen to a *lot* of podcasts. This one ranks right up there. Superb job.

It’s been 36 years since Tiananmen Square. The pro-democracy movement remains by far the biggest story I’ve had the privilege of witnessing. Those people were very brave.

Stolen from FB and with good reason. Left and right side of this image have the same number of dots. It’s apparently called the extinction illusion. And it’s a good one:

In non-apocalyptic news, the new Netflix series Adolescence is stellar. Each of its four episodes are one continuous shot with no edits. The story is incredibly powerful; one of the most riveting things I’ve ever seen. Trust me on this.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:
