Keeping with the drabbles I’ve published, we have the only Canadian publication I’ve written for (so far), the Forgotten Ones anthology.
My story, The Conjuring, was chosen as the book opener for this particular anthology…

I wrote this for another publication and was turned down only for it to find a home in the journal and then be nominated for the best of anthology.

Remember that just because one publication says no, there are so many more options.

Our third quote comes from A Brush with the Devil by way of Phantoms in the Moonlight, A Halloween Anthology.

I tried to write this story any number of times before the deadline for this anthology finally brought it to life.
A Brush With The Devil: His fingers pressed together, leaving a sickly feeling of something squishing in his grasp. His eyes shot open, and no one was beside him. Of course not, her side of the bed had been empty for nearly a decade.

From my very first published story, Watch Your Step, published in the Unleashed: Monsters vs Zombies anthology.

It’s fun to look back at this and try to remember where I even came up with the idea for this story.
A quote from Watch Your Step: Stella stopped at the end of the alleyway and started chanting into the night air, both a spell and a prayer taking shape with each uttered word. Despite her injured arm, she was able to perform the needed actions, although slower than normal. With her hands spinning through motions conceived centuries earlier, and her voice giving power to the spell she had in mind, she drew power from elements around her and used some of her own remaining energy to invoke it.With eyes closed, she pictured the forms her hands took, knowing she did not need to watch as they followed precise motions until the ritual reached its conclusion. Stella stopped moving as she closed off the spell.
