I agree. It’s time people understand what goes into our work.

Yes! One more reason why people always think “it’s just knitting” when it really isn’t knitting most of the time.

Still: I love my job! And I’m grateful I get to do it. I just think that it’s necessary to talk about all sides of the coin here, not just the one you like better.

And then there’s the people who will tell you that your €5 pattern is too expensive or that the handmade item they want to get isn’t priced as something from H&M. 😩🤯

There’s a LOT that goes into what I (and every other designer/teacher) do. It’s definitely not “just knitting”.

Nothing irks me more than people telling me “You have such a great life. You don’t work, you just knit and teach a bit here and there”. 🤬

- I can use cute stationary without my boss telling me I’m unprofessional
- I can listen to my favorite music while I work

Con:
- I’m in charge of EVERYTHING all by myself: I’m not only a designer/teacher.

Pro:
- almost every day is a “pjs, no bra, messy hair” day
- I get to do what I love doing the most
- creative freedom
- there’s always an excuse to get new yarn/needles/fabric/fiber/… you name it
