I knew people who said they could help and claimed they had the connections / friends to boost my sales and author talks. But when it came down to the wire, their contacts bailed on me and they just shrugged with "IDK" I thought they were your network and you wanted to help?

Also...asking me to carry copies with my book on hand does a disservice to my physical mobility. Books are heavy! I can't carry a bag full of books at cons. And tables cost money I do not have at the moment.

For further context, I was published during the time there was a migration from the Clock App, Bird App, etc. The book comm social media platforms were kinda wonky and I wasn't sure where to put my efforts.

I still remember people in my social circle in university cheering a sociopathic ex to write and get published (he had edgelord 00s humor) and yet, I literally wrote several feature length scripts turned into radio plays...smells like misogyny.
