Together Against Sizewell C (TASC) campaigns to rigorously oppose the construction of Sizewell C's two EPR nuclear reactors in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB National Landscape
Please read the truth about the Hinkley C fish deterrent from
The Rivers Trust, just one of many issues in the Nuclear Taskforce's report that needs scrutiny.
At Sizewell C we know that 100s of millions of fish & larvae will be killed annually for 60yrs - see tasizewellc.org.uk/wp-content/u...

If the UK govt's aim is 'energy security & energy abundance' it's absurd to back new nuclear when the UK has no indigenous uranium supplies to fuel the reactors & nuclear is the most costly form of electricity generation worldwide.
This 'Golden Age' for nuclear will keep fossil fuels burning longer!
November 24, 2025 at 9:19 PM
Nuclear Taskforce Chair says 'Britain needs nuclear power'- but that's only if it's govt's aim to keep fossil fuels burning in the UK for longer, by diverting £bns of public funds away from cheaper, quicker to deploy, cleaner & safer alternatives
New nuclear is a political choice not an imperative
November 24, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Miliband's support for dirty nuclear means electricity bills will rise to pay for the 10-12yr Sizewell C build- not 'clean' nor 'homegrown', relying on French design & overseas uranium- diverts £bns away from cheaper, quicker to deploy, cleaner alternatives- means fossil fuels will burn for longer!

"A National Landscape" at Atelier Gallery, High Street, Leiston IP16 4EW. 11-4 Thurs 20th to Sun 30th Nov
The exhibition considers construction of #SizewellC within the AONB, a landscape in transition but at what environmental cost are the purported economic & energy benefits being achieved?

Excellent @drdavidlowry letter in Daily Telegraph.
Couldn't agree more "#EdMiliband is being disingenuous when he claims that nuclear energy is clean and home-grown".

It appears that with each high tide, the sea is edging ever closer to these temporary sea defences at the Sizewell C site. The eroding dunes do not bode well for the permanent sea defences that will need to keep the site safe for the next 150yrs till all the spent fuel is removed!

#Labour ministers need to meet locals & walk the vulnerable fast retreating coastline from Thorpeness to the Sizewell C site to understand the immoral environmental & financial burden they are placing on future generations to keep the plant & its 4,000 tonnes of spent fuel safe till the late 2100s

.@NFLAUKandI re #Wylfa The £2.5bn "would be better spent on insulating Welsh homes to make them warmer & cheaper to run or used to develop more capacity in renewable technologies that can generate electricity cheaper & far quicker..."

Prof Steve Thomas: "We appear now to be facing serious risks from climate change, and there will not be a second chance if we fail to tackle it because too many resources are being consumed by an option—new nuclear—that will not work."

Totally agree. Also, @RachelReevesMP has risked £14bn+ of public funds on Sizewell C - the same flawed EDF EPR design as Hinkley Point C, choosing to prop up the ailing French nuclear industry & big business over 'working people' & the rest of the UK population!

#EnoughIsEnough Fantastic to see over 400 people united against the cumulative impact from the onslaught of energy projects with Sizewell C & onshore EA1N/EA2 already devastating vast swathes of the East Suffolk countryside, much in the AONB. Yet more planned!

Suffolk Coastal, a jewel in the crown with its beautiful landscapes & great biodiversity interests, but now consigned to major industrialisation from the horrific onslaught of numerous energy projects illustrated in the map below- includes ESW's proposal for Sizewell C's water

.@NFLAUKandI "The sheer cost of decommissioning & the disposal of nuclear waste, which invariably falls upon the taxpayer, should lead any minister employing a modicum of common sense to preclude the construction of any more nuclear plants."

How about a #Labour Nuclear Minister 'visits' East Suffolk to walk the rapidly eroding coastline with locals to understand their grave concerns about the risks of Sizewell C & its spent fuel being sited in such a vulnerable location at risk from #climatechange impacts till 2160+!

#Starmer et al call locals #nimbys & #blockers yet fail to visit to see the vulnerability of the coast. Recent erosion has left the ever advancing sea just a few metres from Sizewell C’s site leading to a likely recharge of part of the beach now!

More heartbreak for Thorpeness residents as another home has to be demolished due to 13m of cliff being lost to the sea since Dec24 Yet govt risks £bns on nearby Sizewell C even though part of the beach in front of the site may soon need to be recharged - before the plant have even been built!

On X today Shows the vulnerability of the Sizewell nuclear sites
We're already burdening future generations with the impacts of climate change- it's immoral to also dump on them, the responsibility for protecting Sizewell C & its 4,000 tonnes of spent nuclear fuel from flooding for the next 150+yrs
