I did this painting when I was a teenager. March 5th, 1972. My subconscious was packed to overflowing with childhood trauma. The title comes from what I wrote on the back of the canvas. I was likely high when I did this.

She is either six weeks early this year (she normally starts blooming around Christmas), or she is having a "false" fall bloom this year, which many of my rhododendrons are doing right now.

Most of the garden is my rhododendrons and azaleas. Since so many of them were heavily pruned last month, these bulbs will make up for a lower amount of Rhody flowers next spring. 4/x
