One of my unfinished lockdown projects was/is a replica of the manga version Duel Disk, and while creating a mockup I learned 1) keeping this on-model for a weekly manga was not a priority and 2) neither was the idea of making this into a physical object

Well, I'm at least getting use out of some of the stuff I bought for the Ren Faire

Sadly the "traditional" M-mon deck has not had a great showing, but it's cool (even if Machinedramon is cooler). Lots of self-pop and revival, and rather flashy bosses. Remains to be seen whether the newly-announced promo will save this version of the deck, or headline a more DM-focused build.

Armor Aggro is the most Veemon-heavy, so I'll expand on it some. It's about swinging in as fast as possible with various Armor evos (read: Magnamons) but also has access to the defensive behemoth that is "gold form" Magnamon X. Was a high tier deck for quite a while, prior to creep and meta shifts.

Veemons are used in Blue/Green Imperialdramon decks and Armor Aggro decks, often with evo-cheapening effects. (Not pictured: Purple/Red Imperial.) Hagurumon sees occasional use in Machinedramon to draw cards, or in Cyber Sleuth decks for their devolve-and-evolve playstyle.

A Kimeramon exists as a top end for the DM deck, using Assembly to play itself more cheaply; BT8 Kimeramon is a splashable extra swing on DNA. Millenniummon focuses on popping and reviving Composite mons, with a removal effect that can steal turns; the new promo looks to work in DM builds as well.

Inspired loosely by a similar thread by @silmerion.bsky.social, give me a Digimon (really, anything) and I'll tell you if there's a deck for it (or at least a card) in the current Digimon Card Game

"Hey I'm thinking of getting into the Pokemon card game, what's a deck I can try?"
"Oh, Gardevoir is really solid"
"You mean that new Mega Gardevoir, not that one you were talking about almost 3 years ago, right...?"

Do I think buying the Adamas Machina Zoids Berserk Fury figure for several hundred dollars and its additional armor sets for several hundred dollars more would heal me? Probably not, but it also wouldn't *not* heal me

On one hand, a lot of my souvenirs from Thailand were actually just Japanese imports, but on the other, that means I could find this
November 17, 2025 at 2:54 PM
ok wait this is actually a really nice color combo??

Interestingly, while Horogium was famous for being a Thicc™️ defender, Clock Mirage is weighty but thin, tall, and purely stamina-focused to the point of min-maxing. (Though it actually works pretty well on lower-height setups, suggesting its tallness is intentional for game balance.)

So of course the vast majority ended up being the grey color that everyone else wants, being a throwback to Basalt Horogium, a considerably older but also clock-themed beyblade
November 16, 2025 at 3:05 PM
...I may have also bought several of the Clock Mirage beyblade on my last day in Thailand, both because I've heard it has a tendency to wear down and because I wanted multiple copies of the teal colored one

These points *are* rubber, and even with the deliberate imbalance, this new blade is advertised as being able to "spin steal" (in order to deliver multiple big hits rather than being a one-hit wonder), so perhaps it will be possible to counter said imbalance with the right custom
November 15, 2025 at 2:26 AM
Most Beyblades spin right, a few (like that one) spin left. This makes for harder hits against right-spinners, but also allows for "spin steal". Some past Beyblades were actively designed for this purpose, using less aggressive blade shapes and rubber contact points.
