Little jars full of bath potions. Mostly epsom salts, ground petals, vitamin E oil, and sometimes a drop or two of essential oil. I colour code them with ribbons so I don’t forget which smells like what.

A tabby cat naps on what is to him merely a disobedient chair, and what to me is my lap. The buttocks of the cat’s pet dog, a shy pitbull who knows cats are demons and loves them anyway.

Yesterday this love spoke while I was at the gas station. Over the years I have seen Ravens teach their babies, comfort each other, mourn their dead, and try to survive what my species has done to their home. I never feed wildlife but do share with Raven when asked. I need to. #ravens #yukon #birds

This is a jar of the dry ingredients of fire cider, which is an old folk medicine to help fight colds and flus, to reduce inflammation and support healthy circulation and digestion, and to strengthen the immune system. Here is the recipe: Dry things to put in a jar: Ginger, turmeric, red onion, garlic, radish, hot chilies, cayenne, rosehips, elderberries, rosemary, sage, thyme, juniper, orange peel, black pepper. Cover these things with raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the mother, and seal jar with parchment paper between the liquid and the lid to prevent corrosion. Leave in dark place for a month, roughly, swirling it daily. After a month, strain into clean container and add honey or a vegan alternative to honey. Lasts for many months in fridge, up to 6 months.
