I'd like to see more work from political scientists (including myself!) on the behavior of donors and how this behavior structures and conditions the rest of politics. Donor behavior isn't entirely upstream from everything else, but as the rich get richer w/ fewer restraints on money in politics...

What this means is that messaging appeals are not reflections of what leaders understand voters wanting. Every empirical study that analyzes politician messaging and ascribes it to a perception of what voters want is increasingly likely to be biased.

Also, instead of removing the majority of zoning regulations, I'd simply reverse the polarity of them: All parking minimums are now parking maximums. All minimum lot sizes are now maximum lot sizes. All maximum height limits are now minimum height limits. All setbacks are now setforwards. And so on.
