In the late 1800s, Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Jason Downer was so mad that his neighbor's new house blocked the view of a fountain Downer liked that he built a new house directly against the neighbor's north wall to block *his* views. 140+ years later, both houses are still standing!

For anyone curious what I mean by "that's certainly a unique approach to mechitza," allow me to present:

The sections are all in the same shared prayer space, placed around the rabbi.

Tiny Kitten was dropped off at the vet clinic where my wife works with a respiratory infection, a botfly in her head, a damaged eye, and severe constipation. Nobody was sure she was going to make it. And now, she's a proper little menace preparing to go to her forever home with one of our friends.

It's National Cat Day in the U.S., so I want to show off the glow-up of our foster kitten (who my 8-year-old, in a feat of nominative creativity, has named "Tiny Kitten") from when we first took her in six weeks ago to now:
A 3-4 week old, painfully skinny black tortie kitten wrapped in a blanket. Her eyes are closed and crusty, her fur is bedraggled, and she has an open wound on her head from a botfly removal. The same black tortie kitten six weeks later, sitting on a wood-patterned floor and looking up with big, round kitten eyes. Her fur is very fluffy now, with gorgeous patches of white and brown among the black. She is alert and properly kitten-sized, rather than skin and bones.

He accused the inmates of violating medical ethics. “These are some of the most curious remarks I have heard here,” he said. “Their attitude has nothing in common with the concepts of humanity expressed by the *Herren* [gentlemen] here today.” This was met by laughter in the gallery.

I've seen most of the true classics in the quotes, so here's a (relatively) recent fave of mine:
I cannot stand the parodies of modern major general, they're overdone and simply not as good as the original. They've done them about everything, whatever topic, big or small. And when i notice one of them my eyes will always start to roll. The diction's always slurry when they rush the complicated words, and adding many fricatives will turn it so cacophonous. The slanted rhymes are silly and they keep just making more and more, please someone stop the parodies of modern major general. The scanning of the lyrics in the meter is unbearable, they emphazise the syllables in ways that are untenable, in short in matters musical, prosodic and ephemeral, i cannot stand the parodies of modern major general!

While the real estate agent did not disclose her anonymous Twitter handle, the now-defunct @HoHoHomeboyROC account used the image of a bust of a Black mammy that she admitted she owns. Screengrabs of previous posts include other anti-Black imagery, reposts of other accounts trolling Black people – often in an offensive interpretation of Black vernacular – and several fake ads for KFC. Hogan also indicated that Znidarsic-Nicosia runs additional Twitter accounts. "I think she has a number of different handles," he said. During the press conference, the pair broke down into tears. Znidarsic-Nicosia cried, saying, "The allegations of this narrative have caused my family almost unbearable pain." Her husband, a dentist, wept as he said, "Cancel culture can be cruel." He then added that he has lost patients at his dental practice because of Jones' allegations. "The only thing I hate more than racism, is allegations of racism," he said.
