I used to get this as a 'boy' just because I looked weedy and nerdy tbh, but back then it came with an added air of disappointment and tut-tut-ing on top when I didn't know things.

It's what's clearly connected with readers, too. The humor is one thing, but it's not often trans lesbians get to see ourselves portrayed in all our imperfect glory, our flaws and warts and beauty and strife all at once, without being pathologized or demonized or pitied.

It's just nice.

I really appreciated this when I was reading, it really contrasts against all the frustration you feel for the cast, deepens that frustration, and comes at *just* the right point in the story

It's so rare that you ever get a game where something happens mid-game that drastically shakes up the way you play it, because everyone's so afraid to have an actual gameplay narrative, or afraid that if the player doesn't "beat the game" (another charged term) they've failed as a developer.
