I still love that series but I refuse to engage with it anymore. My trans brother adored those books and it makes me genuinely angry that she's poisoned it for him.

People have offered seats, offered to hold baby while you have a coffee and just generally been lovely. Imagine being raging because someone wants half an hour to themselves!

Most of the parents said they would use extra time to buy themselves a coffee or get 5 minutes to themselves and people are horrified that a mum or dad would want a) to do something nice and b) not go immediately to work

Like, the Home Secretary is right that some communities are feeling the pressure more than others but her party could also help by making life better for those people. They haven't done one thing to actually improve people's lives.

It's perfectly possible to acknowledge pressures on the system and think how to address them without giving in to fascists but labour don't have the stones to do it because they're pathetic.
