It is a bold statement but it has a classical/ancient vibe.

The statue on black is very classy; but the colourful designs are appealing too…🤔

They all sound good! (I know that doesn’t help you choose which WIP to focus on 😂 but at least it’s encouraging)

I like to know the ‘shape’ of it before I start. And it does help if you have a good idea for the ending, or even a couple of alternative endings that you can decide between when you get there!

When I first started writing I used to just start, and let the story take me where it took me. Over time I’ve got better at planning. I find having a rough outline makes it more cohesive and I don’t get stuck. For a novel I have a notebook of ideas and plans that I add to; I don’t always use them.

I love that! The sudden inspiration! Definitely a good idea to act on it. As you say, the novel will still be there.

It’s a good way to refresh your writing. You and your novel just need a break from each other!

Thank you! I think the fact she says she’ll seek out my other books is most flattering. That’s how we want readers to feel, isn’t it?

It looks like a psychological thriller.

My problem is the opposite - I fall out of love with work I’ve finished, so it’s hard to ‘sell’ it to agents/publishers. Although I did get one novel accepted years after I’d written it! There’s no harm in having projects you go back to.

I’d say the moving on happens when you get absorbed in your next writing project.
