Don’t judge a book by its cover, but this is a pretty cool cover! The book was great, too, Tchaikovsky ( @aptshadow.bsky.social ) is one of my favorite sci-fi writers… his stuff is always a nice combo of tech & humanity.

I’m reading Hallopeen to try something new. And so far it’s full of nothing but millennial jokes. Like… The first part is full this wannabe Bloody Mary ritual. Instead of Bloody Mary it got changed into ”say I C.U.P three times and pumpkin men will show up to fuck you”.

I’m genuinely bummed that this wasn’t better. It started strong but as soon as the FMC got to school it just went downhill from there. It became redundant and the ending was lackluster.
