Well done, New York Film Critics Circle!

Carson Lund was our guest on Episode 493 of The Show Before the Show to chat about Eephus, a terrific baseball movie: www.mlb.com/milb/fans/po...

Relatedly, here's a picture of my nephew and me from Soldiers Field in Douglas, Mass where the movie was shot:

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Grateful for my family, including my mom who ran her 53rd Manchester Road Race this morning.

Pretty sure at least 25 of them have involved this Hideo Nomo sweatshirt.

Adding this to my next @homefield.bsky.social order.

That 1998 championship was a real thing that happened. People need to know.

Back in 2024, @bensbiz.bsky.social, @tylermaun.com and I asked for listener suggestions for a fictitious Minor League team. The winner was the Huntington Hellbenders.

After (checks notes) a long time, we unveil the looks for this completely made-up club and talk about it on today's MiLB podcast.

Took a long walk through Central Park today, in high spirits with every step.

New York City is great, and today was great for New York City.

I love this city with my whole heart. I want it to be led by someone who loves it as much as I do and will work to make it more affordable for me, my family and my neighbors.

Let’s have a day, New York.

This Trey Yesavage photo seen 'round the world is by AP photographer David J. Phillip.

Put it in the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Very much so.

This is from an MLB Pipeline newsletter I wrote on Sept. 16, back when the Jays were still flirting with using Yesavage as a postseason reliever:

Trey Yesavage may not call that inning a success, but spinning Shohei Othani into the ground is a fine way to end it.

112.4 mph exit velocity for Nationals 2025 Draft pick Ethan Petry on his first Arizona Fall League homer.

There were only 10 homers hit harder by Washington Major Leaguers in 2025, eight of them by James Wood.

Addison Barger's 98.5 mph throw was the third-fastest postseason outfield assist recorded in the Statcast era (since 2015). It was also the second-fastest of Barger's career. He had a 98.8 mph throw back on April 18.
