for now, please read more about the city and county's temporary shelter services! the 3,454 beds for 10,711 homeless residents means there's about 1 bed for every 3 homeless people.

... those same transparency measurements.

these temporary shelter beds fluctuate in capacity, since people come and go from the system every day, and again, we don't know those metrics. there's a lot more reporting to be done in this area and we're following it.

in this story, "temporary" shelter beds include “interim housing,” “emergency housing,” “transitional housing” and “emergency shelters.” it does not include permanent supportive housing, safe sleeping sites, or safe parking.
