The 2025 VA Gubernatorial Election, a contest between former Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger and incumbent Lt. Governor Winsome Earl-Sears resulted in Spanberger thrashing Earl-Sears by a 15.4% landslide — the Largest Democratic win in VA since it became a two party Democracy.

Per recent reports, it appears that Julia Menin has attained the support needed to become Speaker of the NYC Council, with 35 Council People publicly supporting her — granting her 36 votes (including herself) to become Speaker of the Council.

as John posted, yeah, it was anticlimactic. The 2018 primary was similarly anti-climactic, as was the 2024 NJ Senate & Presidential Primaries (though they may be instructive).

Then there have basically been no competitive primaries in Essex or Mercer (outside of a few off-the-line primaries)

Due to her astronomically strong performance in Burlington, Sherrill was able to nearly tie Ciattarelli in the GOP leaning seat, however the strong turnout from Ocean prevented Sherrill from getting that final percent to overtake Jack Ciattarelli in the District that first Sent Andy Kim to Congress.

Besides the strong campaign — the thing that won over the District for Granados was winning African Americans, but Latinos? despite voting for Baraka at the top of the ticket they split for the Machine Latino.
