This is apparently where I will be all day.

The only time I consider this setup is a norovirus situation and even then, I'm not sure.

This is the kind of thing I don’t think we could accomplish in these enshittified times.

But the lesson I am continually learning is that staying attached to an idea is a good way to become creatively constipated.

The series was an exercise in letting go of the good ideas so more ideas can come. I practice this over and over and still I need to practice it because ideas are weirdly mysterious and mercurial things -- we don't know where they come from and sometimes they don't show up.

The suggestion of figurative line drawings are transfer drawings I did a while back that I loved the idea of but hadn't quite nailed where I wanted to go with them, so I was holding on to them as mental bookmarks.

The typographic elements are part of a collection of collage materials from Coupee Collage Collective in Belgium. I've received two themed packets from them and they are too deliciously put together. As collections of fodder alone they are interesting and I've been loathe to break up the band.

The silk scraps are part of a large stash of trimmings I bought from an artist who made dyed silk paintings and I really wanted to stop being reluctant to use them.

This was a series I did specifically to stop treating materials as more precious than others.
