Seattle-ish.
This is apparently where I will be all day.

The adorable hellbeast is convalescing from a bad paw sprain after falling from the roof so when he demands lap time, he gets lap time. He also has mastered telling me when he’d like to be carried around the house.

I Might Have Been Stoned When the Vortex Shimmered and the Myth of Dry Clean Only Unravelled. 20 x 16 inches. 2023.

This was a collage I made for Jen Tough Gallery in Santa Fe using some materials I was obsessed with -- those blue scraps, the hand, the silk scraps.

Banana Republic Overstock Sale on Mediocre Afternoons in a Washable Linen Blend. Paper and silk collage sewn onto mat board, 18x24 inches. 2023.

Apartment Story No. 4, from 2020 when I was still painting. This is 18x24 inches on paper, and it is one of two paintings from this series published in University of Wisconsin's Cream City Review.

The Mice Ate the Wall After I Framed Your Sorrows. Mixed media collage from my sadcore series, in a shadowbox frame, 2023.

We Were Made to Flutter in Open Air Ecstasy, a locative collage I made in 2024 for Cut Me Up Magazine's issue about the Japanese concept of "ma," a “pause in time, an interval or emptiness in space.” I was aiming for the interval of tension between inner and outer realms.

I’m almost through a sweater-a-month knitting class and of the ten I’ve finished so far, this one feels the most like an achievement. Also, it’s super warm and super soft because it’s a merino/baby alpaca yarn.

From playing around at a collage meetup last week. I found a multi-page advertisement depicting what looked like employee badge photos and turned three of them into something odd.

My only deeply opinionated on the record food take of the day is WTF IS THIS NONSENSE? Someone signed off on this and I would like to have a few words with them outside about it.

Had a weekend art and yarn excursion to Portland and every time I stepped out of the elevator to head to my room, this is what I faced. Startled me the night I returned after what was probably too many mezcal negronis with one of my favorite people.

My Thanksgiving cacti are starting to show off and may bloom more than I have ever seen in the 13 years I’ve had them. I had to move them because of house repairs and they love their new location too much to move back.

Dried alocasia leaves that are too beautiful to toss out.

Browsing tile and I need you all to know that Merola Tile (available at Home Depot) has cat and dog tiles and if I had reason/funds to redo the tile in my shower, it would be Oh My Cat.

My longest tradition as an adult is making cream scones with fresh cranberries in the fall. The cream and butter mean they are nothing like the dry, crumbly sadness that is most scones. First batch is ours. Next batch is for our neighbors.

Guessing this isn’t one of the expert tips but I purchased this coaster for a reason.

Also this.

I also got to finally see The Butterfly Effect just before the closing reception. I have a piece in the show but the real star was the arrangement of butterflies decorated by various groups and installed in a flight pattern.

Took myself on a colorful art date in Seattle today and got to pop in to Lynn Hanson Gallery to see my friend Nina O’Neil’s show Draw Me a Sheep. The paintings are inspired by Le Petit Prince and they are dreamy. This one is “It’s All So Mysterious” (36x36 in).

Digging Ankon Mitra’s pieces constructed from folded paper. I will never not be fascinated by what transpires when someone internalizes the mechanical and material properties of different types of paper.

Check out the lenticular effect achieved here!

A few weeks ago I set out on a road trip that including driving through UT and picking up a box of fresh peaches and for the rest of the journey, I got to eat a perfectly ripe peach with breakfast.

Strong recommend. Get the fruit stand peaches (not the grocery store ones).

Spent the last couple of weeks on a road trip that ended in Tucson and that glowing cloud was a perfect end.
