Posing this question to creatives and consumers: What's a concern you have about the Netflix-Warner Bros. deal?
Mine is the handling of Warner Bros. TV and whether Netflix will claw back output to broadcast, cable, and competing streamers and make all future projects exclusive to their streamer.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding but the House of Mouse concentrating on local markets where they're expanding globally but not providing kids and family content seems very short-sighted.

I would like to know who has been reporting that national programmers "operating out of New York and Hollywood" are keeping broadcasters from "serving their local communities—including by punishing them for exercising their right to preempt national programming."
HBO Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys explained the network's reliance on IP to engage their audience. What do y'all think of this strategy? For me, I admit that it's a winner, but IP fatigue is a real problem, too.

A reminder that the FCC's authority over the licenses of broadcasters is limited and the president not liking what someone on broadcast said does not fall in that purview.

Montana Mavericks, the first film in The CW's Harlequin romances slate, was such a good watch. Love seeing a broadcast network venture into the TV movie lane. I'm hoping there's more to come in other genres as well.

I strongly suggest you read the FCC's manual 'The Public and Broadcasting.' I wrote about the document on my Substack, TV on My Mind. It goes into the limited authority of the federal agency and the people's power over what broadcasts.

#ThePaper is more a successor of Parks and Rec than anything else. It's earnest in the right ways. There's a sense of optimism in this show that we desperately need especially in a time where there's an attack on journalism in this country. I think you should give it a chance.
