Just a chill, nerdy guy with social anxiety who likes video games, music, and tech, and wants an outlet to break out of his shell.
Ohhh man, I’d hate to hype it up too much but I think you’re in for a treat.

I’ll be eagerly waiting to hear your thoughts. 😁

I just recommended this game to someone less than an hour ago, then Sora reposted this which put it on my feed. What timing.

Such a fantastic game. I've played it 3 or 4 times now and it hits just as hard each time. Glad you enjoyed it so much!

Switch - “What Remains of Edith Finch”

Considering your available consoles you might not have played this one, since IIRC the Switch port was a bit late. Go in as blind as possible.

If you have played it, I’ll think of something else. 😁

I’d imagine the Game Pass drop for Crypt Custodian and the Switch 2 GameCube Classics for Chibi Robo added them to the discussion this year.

I still have my (mostly untouched 🥲) ‘Cube copy somewhere in storage. Hoping to have more space to display my physical games when I eventually move out of FL.

Non-2025 games you say?

Crypt Custodian
Hollow Knight (replay, if that matters)
Yakuza 5 Remastered
Chibi Robo
Death Stranding (also a replay)
Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door

My sense of time is all out of whack, so there might be more I played but can’t remember if I played them this year.

Ooh, from The Room’s developers? Will definitely need to check that out.

Thanks! They were all a lot of fun live. This list is from 20-something years of concerts ranging from small venues to large amphitheaters and even Epcot at Disney World of all places.

3 Sonic games and didn’t even get the best one, Frontiers. SMH my head.

Though seriously, that’s a great haul.

Pokemon but with smaller scope from having fewer types.

Stories and characters are really good, though be prepared for some anime tropes. And the music absolutely slaps across the whole series.

They’re among my all-time faves. Everything in the design just clicks for me.

Hope you enjoy them!

It’s definitely on the longer side, 5 especially you can hit 100+ hours to wrap the story.

Very linear, since it’s based on an in-game calendar, which you’re given clear deadlines to meet to progress.

Combat is peak for the genre, IMO, focused on targeting weaknesses not too dissimilar from…

so try to go in with that expectation whichever one you start with.

Any specific tips or questions you might be looking for?

4 Golden is definitely a great place to start, though 5 brings in some QoL and polish that might be easier to get into. (However, that may make it harder to go back to earlier games.)

Don’t expect to get everything in one playthrough without following a guide, which is a really boring way to play…

The taxi minigame in particular is really quite fun. Smooth out some of the jank, add in more variety in goals and a larger map, and I think that could be a fully compelling game on its own.
