Flavor Text (one of the only ones not spoken by a character or from Phoenix Wright's POV in this card pack): What better way to treat yourself after a day of work than by having a hot bowl of ramen on the way home? Miso broth, juicy char siu, perfect noodles that aren't too hard and aren't too soft...the warm feeling of happiness spreading through your body when you take your first mouthful... Nothing beats ramen. Not even burgers. Fromt left to right, Larry Butz (Ace Attorney), Frank West (Dead Rising), and Furio Tigre (Ace Attorney) eating ramen at night. A digital alarm clock on the ramen stand shows 2:02am. In context of this card pack, this is the key piece of evidence that exonerates Larry from being the one who destroyed the statue, as the statue was destroyed at exactly 2:00am. The mention of burgers in the flavor text is a very cheeky reference to how Ace Attorney was localized. In Japan, the Ace Attorney games take place in Japan as normal, but in the English localization, the AA games take place in Los Angeles. According to Janet Hsu, localization director for the original trilogy, the localized version of AA takes place in a version of the US where none of the anti-Japanese sentiment or anti-immigration laws that presumably spawned from WW2 happened. In the localized version of AA, Maya’s love of ramen in the Japanese version is turned into a love of hamburgers.

RX-78-2 GUNDAM: NOW AND THEN

I really love the classic look of the Gundam, so I wanted to understand all its differences compared to the modern interpretation of the RX-78-2. And there's no better way to learn something well than to teach others!

NOSE - While the original design of the head is variable in its design (especially around the faceplate, which could either have a flat top or a jagged top), a good amount of the illustrations show that the red section under the eyes was intended to be in the shape of a nose and upper cheeks. This is similar to other giant robots of the era, like Mazinger Z or Zambot 3. VENTS - Some depictions of the RX-78-2 have extruded yellow frames around the chest vents instead of vents directly inset in the chest. While this is a design trait that the later RX-178 Gundam Mk-II has featured since its first appearance, the RX-78-2 wouldn't be depicted with them until its first Master Grade model kit in 1995. Now, this look is part of the variable design "canon", and appears on some iterations of the RX-78-2 like the Ver. Ka or the Gundam: The Origin design. YELLOW V-FIN/ANTENNA - The RX-78-2 is occasionally depicted with the crest on its head in yellow instead of white, especially in early merchandise of the show. This may have been because early giant robot toys used softer, rubbery material for pointy design elements, and that material only came in a yellow color. On the RX-78-2, this yellow coloration is also used in the Gundam: The Origin manga, alongside a green camera at the top of the head and eyes that often glow pink. (alt text continued in next post)

Flavor Text, spoken by Larry: Yeah, I was the one who organized bringing those guys into Central Park. But I did get permission from the security guard! Come to think of it, he did seem strangely interested in them... Not that I can blame him. Those guys are something else! Dan Hibiki (Street Fighter) giving Larry Butz (Ace Attorney) a thumbs up after sneaking Sasquatch (Darkstalkers), an Anteka, and the Brachydios (both from Monster Hunter) into the Central Park's forest. The clipboard Dan is holding has the date of June 17th on it, as well as the security code for the Brachydios' cage. In context of this card pack, this took place a day before the alleged demon gatherings that Wendy Oldbag saw on June 18th, as revealed by other cards, it was just Sasquatch’s naturally cold body and the Anteka’s horns that made her think it was demons. This card also establishes that only 2 people were capable of knowing the Brachydios’ cage code, as Larry snuck the Steel Samurai’s opponents into the park secretly. Dan had a vested interest in the Brachydios especially, going by the 'Saikyo T-Shirt (AVP 017)' card…
