Heaven forbid anyone take over the logical thinkings
Eric Adams, endorsing Cuomo: "New York can't be Europe, folks ... Those Islamic extremisms that are burning churches in Nigeria, that are destroying communities in Germany, that have taken over the logical thinkings. And that's what I'm fighting for."

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

Inspiring thread! When the practice of science and #scicomm is set apart from our humanity, from our search for meaning and justice, it doesn't work at all. This is as important to remember as it has ever been in my lifetime
I have a few thoughts about this! I have a monthly column, I am regularly invited to give public science talks, and I've written a pop sci book that continues to sell remarkably well, four years in -- and is also taught in classrooms around the US.

AND I reached audiences that other pop sci didn't.
Interesting thread. I wonder whether it says that the most important barrier to scientific literacy is (self-directed) interest, not availability of popular science. They’re related but getting people curious about (and interested in) science may be upstream of getting them to engage with pop sci.

I’ve seen this piece being used to start discussions about how we “reach” people who felt it was worth it to vote for him or who were sucked in and are now regretting their choices & I’m not saying that is a fruitless pursuit but I think there’s some REALLY important math getting missed
Yes, you did vote to deport moms.
