I had to kill off the rest of a roll of 16mm 50D in the Arriflex so naturally I just used it to film playing with my cat.

I don’t really ever post anything here anymore but I actually did successfully shoot a roll of 16mm which I’m pretty proud of. This is just a raw scan of the whole roll as proof the camera actually worked before shooting stuff I actually care about.

I put new wheels on the truck yesterday, and my body has rewarded me lifting heavy things with my right arm being partially numb today. I ❤️ aging and dying.

I decided I wasn’t immediately gonna buy another vehicle to replace my truck but a buddy presented me an offer on this 75 K10 4spd I couldn’t pass up. It was his grandpas truck, owned since 79 and came with a mountain of receipts. I’m not usually a Chevy guy but I’m pretty stoked about this thing.

Unfortunately no lenses, but already working on a solution to that via the collective worldwide network of dipshits. The bayonet mount is uncommon and makes this one more valuable.

There are much easier and better ways to shoot motorsports in 2025. Who cares. I'm not getting paid for this shit. Find your own reasons. Find your own value. Distract yourself from the horrors however you see fit. For me, the effort is the point.

Spend an entire night scanning every image one by one. Even the ones that aren't that great. The effort is the point.

Try again the next day with the real roll you meant to develop. Pat yourself on the back that the extra practice from the day before has improved your technique of getting 15ft of thin base aerial film onto a horrible metal reel. The effort is the point.

Accidentally develop 15 feet of fresh film that was in the can sitting next to the can you actually meant to develop in your darkroom. Freak out because you thought you lost a bunch of irreplaceable shots. The effort is the point.
