The first couple of pages of Fire Punch would incinerate these Victorian children

Gonna be some rough lessons coming up for these kids

Briefly checked twitter and saw someone saying they didn't want to see an author's fetishes in their work, like it was some kind of rude interruption, and sorry brother, that's all I want to see in art.

Really glad the new movie gave me the necessary push, can't wait to finish it.

I'm so used to adaptations spending so much energy on the whys and hows, and the whole time, Shelley was like "yeah it happened, that's not the important part."

Also fun to note how Victor's method and motivation for creating the creature are very brief; he resolves to do it and gets it done, very matter-of-fact. With the introspection of the fallout taking up far more space.

Very amusing to go from del Toro casting Charles Dance to do his thing as the elder Frankenstein to Shelley's novel having Victor go on and on about his father being a vision of loving support and generosity.

It goes unsaid in The Chair Company, but it definitely has The Rehearsal "we're seeing just how much HBO money we can pull for this nonsense" audacity

The Chair Company is a show where you spend most of any given episode with your head in your hands, going "oh no no noooo wait WHAT."
