I was really frustrated by the absence of information about what the course was, what was on the syllabus, and what actually happened in the class.

Right. I knew people in the covid trials, and they didn't know whether they'd had the vaccine or not. I believe they use placebos for vaccines against diseases when no vaccine yet exists.
