I notice the URLs in the playlist file have epoch "expiry" times, and changing these to something in the future results in errors for those requests, so it's not that...

Nope, that's just a tracking thing I think. Need to refresh the page for it to start again, and it doesn't "resume" - annoying when I was an hour or so into a long set, and have to either restart or spend a while scanning through, knowing that it'll happen again when I next pause.
