the most striking part of dead to rights is that they decided to make photography the focal point. it makes so much sense from a historical pov but that concept could not have been easy to formulate, and how they wove that into the storyline was i think really masterful.

idk how we got to stigmatizing sushi that don't use raw seafood or looking down on ppl who don't eat em. not only are non-seafood and cooked types of traditional sushi common and popular, idk many people even know what raw forms of some seafood look like (e.g. crab/lobster meat, octopus, clams, etc)

funny how ramen shops and "upgrade your ramen" of toppings/sauce is mainstream, it's not much yet occurred ramen quality is noodles➡️broth➡️topping. as if spaghettios or dried noodles is default but elevate with filet mignon and truffle oil, but not yet that homemade pasta and sauce are highly-valued
