I went to a book reading in Seattle with Salman Rushdie this week (it was fabulous). By pure coincidence, there was a group of Somali poets from the Gaas Collective sharing their work on the same day Trump was spewing hate toward Somalis in the White House. 1/

Between Trump's pardon of the convicted narco-terrorist who used to run Honduras and was in league with the cartels of Mexico and El Salvador, and his unlawful war with Venezuela, it is hard to come to any other conclusion-- this isn't about stopping drugs; it's about controlling drugs. 1/

Nearly 7 million people marched and protested at No Kings rallies across the country, making it the largest one day protest in US history. No idea how many joined us in Seattle, it it was many thousands -- all peaceful, patriotic, and determined.

EPA defended defunding the work that could have protected these Alaska villages from catastrophic funding, saying that "due to proactive cancellation of this grant, $20 million of hardworking U.S. tax dollars are currently sitting in the U.S. treasury instead of swept into the Kuskokwim River."

My doctor is with Optum Health (part of United Health Care). Their statement that they are waiting on new CDC guidelines and assurances that they will "continue to follow evidence based medical practices" doesn't give much confidence with anti-vaccine hacks running CDC.

Personal note: I am 70, with history of pulmonary disease, so getting a COVID vaccine should be easy, even with Secretary Brainworm's new policies. When I contacted my pharmacy, I was told I needed a prescription. When I contacted my doctor, I was told they needed to wait for new CDC guidelines 1/
