It looks like the larval stage of a beetle in the coccinellidae family, which include ladybugs, though I think they're more commonly referred to as ladybirds over there. Ton of them on my dog rose right now.

Funny how that happens. I'm glad it was healing. I don't know what my mother did with hers. We don't really talk. lol

My mother sent in for it and kept it mint-in-box. I was 9 and drove me crazy. It's probably molding away in her attic with all the product tie-in Barbies.
