For years, local governments & police departments have cooperated with federal agencies through the Joint Terrorism Task Forces. Now, through Trump's new NPSM-7 directive, these task forces will focus on “leftist” groups.

History shows us what happens when our movements are targeted by the feds.
In NSPM-7, “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence,” President Trump directs the Justice Department, the FBI, and other national security agencies and departments to fight his version of political violence in America, retooling a network of Joint Terrorism Task Forces to focus on “leftist” political violence in America. This vast counterterrorism army, made up of federal, state, and local agents would, as Trump aide Stephen Miller said, form “the central hub of that effort.” NSPM-7 directs a new national strategy to “disrupt” any individual or groups “that foment political violence,” including “before they result in violent political acts.”

FIRE THE UC PRESIDENT. PROTECT ACADEMIC FREEDOM. The President of the University of California, in chilling disregard of the First Amendment, reported the names and other important information of students to the Trump Administration. These students have their futures at risk due to a nebulous connection to alleged antisemitism. The University of California has disregarded this entirely, opting instead to bend to the whims of President Trump. We urge the University of California Board of Regents to remove the current UC president and replace him with a leader willing to defend academic freedom instead of betraying it.

RootsAction statement on DNC’s defeat of resolution for arms embargo on Israel   The DNC’s rejection of the arms-embargo resolution amounts to rejection of human decency as well as rejection of the vast majority of Democrats across the country. A party that refuses to call for an end to arming genocide is a party that is continuing the moral collapse of the Biden administration that made the start of the genocide possible.   Across the United States, young Democrats and others have worked tirelessly to offer the party the opportunity to turn away from its complicity with Israel’s continuous mass killing of civilians in Gaza. The election of a new DNC chair could have made creative and essential use of that opportunity. Instead, the leadership of the new chair Ken Martin – accompanied by the ‘sheepership’ of so many DNC members – has reinforced and perpetuated the shameful refusal to stand up and speak out for a halt to U.S. enabling of the ongoing large-scale atrocities against Palestinian people.   RootsAction will continue to work with grassroots activists and organizations to challenge the insidious culture of conformity and participation in the destructive politics of militarism. In an era when the Trump regime is becoming ever more cruel and fascistic, the solution is the opposite of accommodation to the U.S.-Israeli policies of mass slaughter. The solution includes solidarity with Palestinian people and all others who suffer from injustice, oppression and horrific violence.

Why has the death (& cover up) of Los Angeles anti-ICE protester Adrienne Villa gone virtually unreported? There is very little information about this alarming incident. An utter failure by local and national media. This deserves much more attention!
She protested ICE. She died from hanging in custody.

Our local NYC hero Youman Wilder was just on MSNBC talking about how he caught ICE agents questioning his players, asking "where you from? where your parents from?" Youman instructed the kids to not answer them & told the feds to back off.
