Political-social commentator/sometime-journo. I write books & media articles, sometimes I investigate stuff. Whiny male edgelord's pinup girl. Mostly hilarious most of the time. Likes are acknowledgments only. She/her
It must also be said, that Sean Kelly writes like butter.

My review of Sean Kelly's latest piece in the Quarterly Essay.

As is often the case, the truth takes a while to catch up

The appeal judges found that Lisa Wilkinson acted properly in terms of the extensive inquiries she made and the information she relied on

Lisa always acted appropriately

The judges disagreed with Justice Lee who had asserted the opposite

I've just finished reading the judgment in the Lehrmann appeal to the Federal Court and a few points really stuck out - apart from the fact that the appeal judges agreed that Lehrmann's story was an absolute fabrication.

Lisa Wilkinson was found to have been poorly done by in the original judgment

Hi @bsky.app

If you want this to be a global platform, how about trending topics reflecting the other 96% of the world's population?

The domination of this site by American news and American topics is one of its greatest drawbacks

Hell, even old Elon manages to get this right

I doubt very much his visa was cancelled purely for "attending a legal protest". His behaviour online and elsewhere has also been abhorrent

When he applied for his visa, he agreed to abide by certain terms and conditions, just like any contract

He breached his contract

That's on him and him only

The person apologising for failing to pass on the Sydney neo-Nazi rally protest information is the Deputy NSW Police Commisioner.

He was recently the acting NSW Police Commissioner and applied for the top job.

But 3 months ago he was passed over for the Commissioner's job.

Yes, indeed 😎

The original March for Humanity on the harbour bridge in Sydney was planned for Sun Aug 3, 2025

After the Minns govt took the protest orgs to the NSW Supreme Court, it was held on Sun Aug 31, 2025

But please let's hear again about weekend dates not registering as an issue for the Minns govt

There are some quite significant hurdles to that goal

Just so we're all straight

His secret government documents alleged theft hearing was two days ago, today was his alleged Tas car theft hearing, his alleged two counts of rape charges in QLD hearing is early 2026 and his defamation appeal hearing is August next year

I mean, seriously . . .

.
November 6, 2025 at 1:59 AM
In case you're finding it hard to keep up, this court hearing was related to the allegation Lehrmann stole French submarine secrets in the days before his dismissal back in 2019

It's not about his current rape charges in QLD, or his car theft charges in Tas, or his 'defamation' appeal or . . . .

Apart from leaking to the SMH and the Age like a rusty colander, this would have to be the most tiresome little man in the Australian public service

Hyperbolic, publicity mad, sinophobic, constantly beating his own drum when absolutely nobody has asked - don't ever get between him and a headline

.

I posted this on the bird site so I'll post it here too.

Ahem

Today my debut novel #Gunnawah officially became the Number 1 best seller

That means I'll get a private jet, and a 10 year supply of Grey Goose and Tim Tams, and a marching team of cartwheeling dachshunds and . . . . .

(I'll just get a red sticker on the front cover 😎)

No media about this?

NSW Police investigated 14 incidents of alleged antisemitic attacks and found NO evidence of Iran or any other foreign agent acting in relation to the 14 alleged antisemitic incidences

The Minns and Albanese govts both exploited this falsehood to further their own agendas

On another note

It truly is a sign of how desperate Sussan Ley is - how she must be plumbing the depths of her handbag looking for inspiration - that she's clutching her plastic bangles about a 70's pop group on a t-shirt

Next week - Sussan gives Australia a forceful lecture on Albo's socks

Has Jillian Segal come out in support of her boss, Anthony Albanese yet?

This would be the time for her to say something.

Of course that's only if her actual boss - Israel - gives her the all clear.

Stunning writing

Stunning observations

Watch how our society in all its facets - built by men, designed by men, produced by men, predominantly controlled by men - works to protect the man every time

(From the BBC drama: The Following Events Are Based On A Pack Of Lies, on ABC iview I believe)

The post-humous memoir of Virginia Giuffre is released today

If you can, please buy/borrow a copy (paperback/e-book/audio)

Of course, if you can not, and so many of us will not be able to read it for so many reasons, please share and let people know about the story of this extraordinary woman

💔🙏🏽❤️

From Tom Ravlic's insta

The federal government's social media ban is the usual unresearched, headline grabbing act, with little solid evidence underneath it that will, as all the experts keep saying, be virtually impossible to police and maintain

Government by headline
