Effects of downzoning are striking:
—Neighborhoods downzoned from 1970–90 gained only 65 housing units on average between 1990–2010, compared to non-downzoned tracts, which gained 470 units on average—7x as much.
—Downzoned areas ended up with higher white population shares & higher housing costs.

Like, everyone who ever hired / supervised these people at any point in their "careers" should have been fired immediately. Or 10 seconds later. That it hasn't happened is the only story that matters.

Every bit of news about these people that doesn't come with a long list of FIRED folks (anyone who ever hired & supervised them, anyone who covered for them, anyone who reports on them without centering the total lack of ethics) is merely another critique of journalism.

I've often wondered how the pandemic would have been perceived differently if we'd had local media throughout the US running stories on "Local Morgue Overflowing", "Area Coroner Overwhelmed" in 2020.
