I also have a lot of caveats re active inference but I still think the principle of some approximately Bayesian belief / action loop is a useful model

This also makes sense from an active inference perspective: organisms can adjust their beliefs to reality or change reality itself. Powerful entities can make their maps into the territory the rest of us must navigate
