So, I have been reading X-Men comics chronologically, and just recently got to Uncanny X-Men #210 that has a scene where a violent mob prepares to attack Nightcrawler. Obviously very relevant to today, and the camaraderie is important.
This issue is followed by the Mutant Massacre.
