So as someone who is both an educator and has introduced numerous new people to the hobby over the years, definitely some interesting thoughts here. IMO, the answers are complex. As always I feel the best way to introduce new people to gaming or to a new game for them, offer to run it.
My experience has been that newbies are like sponges and roll with new TTRPGs better than a lot of old-timers. What's been your experience? How open have you found new people to the hobby?

I think the #ttrpg scene could use more #pbta games that are built for duet play, at the very least as training tools for GMs in the framework. Learn 'the conversation' in a one-on-one setting, where you don't have the ghosts of mechanical balance and action economy hanging around.

Social media companies spend millions on data farming to deliver targeted ads and still can't comprehend that while I like to buy ttrpgs, I will never buy anything that has "D&D" or "5E" in its marketing, ever. I would tell them this directly if I could. I want to help them here! #dnd #ttrpg #ads
