Wait. I thought we weren’t going to talk about “affordability” because it’s a Democrat con job.

Make up your goddamned mind, Donnie.

I thought a federal judge already determined the Guard has to leave Washington.

Granted, that decision was temporarily stayed … but at a minimum it seems like *beefing up the mumbers* is exactly contradictory to the court orders.

It’s called “ensh!ttification”. See the recent book by Cory Doctorow.

Too bad he didn’t quit while he was still ahead.
I am still angry about that.

Fox lies like they breathe.
But inflation was NOT at 9% when Biden took office, sorry.

I had the same concern, that Trump’s pardon could be used to free the bomb suspect …
but I’m guessing the fact he planted his bombs on the 5th, not Jan 6th, makes Trump’s executive order inapplicable. Thank goodness.

Trump may end up pardoning him, anyway.

Who knew that auto companies have been waiting around for a president to tell them it’s legal to make small cars.

In other breaking news, Trump today announced he will allow candy companies to produce “bite-sized” chocolate treats.

This is why the guillotine was invented.

Same as well in any Latin American country.

I dunno.
Every MAGAt I encounter online seems to be unusually expert in global climate dynamics and global circulation models, vaccine technology including mRNA bioreceptors , and of course nuances of Constitutional and international Law.

Remarkable for people who slept through high school physics!

On this we agree. Personal IRAs for minors is an OK idea, but it’s not a solution for the obscene ongoing transfer of wealth to our oligarch overlords. Time to eat the rich.

I’ll add that I can get quality DVDs at my local thrift store for $3 a pop. I stop in about once every three weeks to see what’s new on their shelves. Little by little, I am collecting my favorite re-watchable films.

FIFA must be looking for a presidential pardon for some crime.
December 5, 2025 at 4:45 PM
Her attorney’s argument as to why a Trump pardon would apply is laughably tortured and illogical. Moreover, if applied nationally it would throw hundreds of state prosecutions into doubt.

But, I suppose, if push comes to shove, our corrupt Supreme Court might uphold this scam. What a mess.
December 5, 2025 at 4:43 PM
I thought presidential pardons can’t be applied to state convictions?

Superb NPR interview this morning with a former counterterrorism expert speculating this is the most likely explanation.

He cited the exponential increase in data processing & analysis capabilities in just the last couple of years that helps analyze tens of thousands of phone, sales, video records.

And that’s what this H generation + storage is — another form of battery. One that apparently doesn’t require massive amounts of copper, lead, heavy metals, rare earths(?)

Will this be a more efficient form of battery? Only time will tell. But this seems to me like an option worth exploring.

If only there were some way for JFS to read the article and answer their own question.
December 5, 2025 at 2:49 PM
It might help if you actually read the article.

Energy storage.
December 5, 2025 at 2:47 PM
“Efficient”, not effigy. Damn auto-correct.
December 5, 2025 at 2:46 PM
Yes. But the beauty of generating and storing hydrogen is that it’s like a giant battery: when the sun’s not shining and the wind’s not blowing, the energy harnessed from those sources can be fed back into the grid.

I’ll be curious if and where this becomes more effigy than other batteries.

I agree with you that these ‘Trump Accounts’ are a piss-poor “solution” to a much more fundamental problem in America: the one-percent class is grossly under-taxed, while 90% of us (esp younger generations) are being economically screwed.
December 5, 2025 at 2:33 PM
What’s being proposed is essentially a personal IRA for minors.

My IRAs + 401ks have been invested in stocks and bonds for 40+ years. They’ve appreciated to where I was able to retire, even without Social Security.

Fund managers skimmed about 0.25% a year along the way. I’m not complaining.
December 5, 2025 at 6:20 AM
Why don’t you answer this question for yourself: this appears to be all spelled out in the legislation passed.

This is essentially seed money for an IRA for poorer Americans under the age of 18 that can’t be cashed out until they turn 18, and then only for education or a house down-payment.
