A post on "The Bad Place" by acclaimed author Joyce Carol Oates in regards to the owner of said cesspool media site reads: So curious that such a wealthy man never posts anything that indicates that he enjoys or is even aware of what virtually everyone appreciates— scenes from nature, pet dog or cat, praise for a movie, music, a book (but doubt that he reads); pride in a friend’s or relative’s accomplishment; condolences for someone who has died; pleasure in sports, acclaim for a favorite team; references to history. In fact he seems totally uneducated , uncultured. The poorest persons on Twitter may have access to more beauty & meaning in life than the “most wealthy person in the world.”

I'm beginning to think he blocked all who replied to him so his followers wouldn't be able to go read what was said for themselves. His narrative here doesn't even resemble the conversation I witnessed.

His issue w/ someone wanting to know "why" in an apology isn't b/c he's NT.

But there is an overwhelming tendency for them to cluster in tight little bands to moan about the evil world out there and call for change. Something has to crack the overwhelming wall of opposition. I'm teaching a class on historical changemakers this year, so I am thinking about this a lot. It's wild to see how he characterizes his exchanges in this thread. I only saw people respectfully reaching out to him and him telling them they're wrong because NTs don't naturally work that way.
Which was never a point in issue.

Like, the insight was shared because we already know they don't.

Yes, people make mistakes, but if they didn't have ill intent they'd be more than happy to explain that. If someone is offended that you asked why, they're abusive.

Someone acknowledges fault for a certain act they recognize was wrong. "worry that I..." Asking or expecting them to explain why they did it would be considered invasive, frankly. People make mistakes. Dale Baker shares a post he made that reads: I found a name for what I've seen more and more on Bluesky now. Heated activist anger. They vent a lot of heat and emotion but very little insight, the very thing I come to social media for. Then heaven help you if you don't align perfectly with their anger formulations. Not me. Sorry not sorry. He then plays the role of victim, referring to this thread exchange, with his quote reshare of the first post: After I posted this, I had an encounter following this outline EXACTLY. I tried to offer information and perspective to someone correctly complaining. Pointing out how their problem is mostly unknown and not understood by the target audience just got me nailed for not agreeing with them. GMAFB

Finding joy right now is an act of resistance. Creating joy is a revolutionary act. Photography is my attempt at both.
A single orange Poppy sprouts forth from a crack between the curb and the street. Thriving under inhospitable conditions. The beautiful Yaquina Bay Bridge framed by trees in the foreground while the light blue sky reflects on the water beneath and large floofy white clouds float above. The Yaquina Muscle Tree. Someone has placed a red heart shaped pillow in the open hole left behind when a winter storm took down one of it's branches last year. Another view of the iconic Yaquina Muscle Tree. One of its arms appears to be flexing while the others reach for the heavens as it keeps watch over the mouth of the Yaquina Bay. I've loved this tree since I began forming memories. I will deeply miss it if it must come down next month due to dry rot found within.

These are the photos I liked best from my impromptu stop at the aquarium yesterday.
Orange, teal, purple green and yellow-brown corals provide a brilliant home for some tiny eel like creatures. (I need to pay closer attention to the signage next time I guess) Smallish orange/brown fish swim through bright green seaweed with a dark grey background while sandy colored tiny pebbles cover the bottom of the tank. A brilliant blue backdrop with approximately 14 medium sized yellow/brown jellyfish floating within. A happy looking stingray swims above the clear tunnel as a light shines down from behind, creating sunbeams in the water as a large school of silvery fish can be seen coming into the image from the bottom left.

There's a large window before the underwater tunnels & when you're there alone it feels like you're part of a magical world.
This little guy was super intent on being right up beside me yesterday & I wanted to hug 'em so bad.😄
I felt entirely peace-filled after hanging together.
10/10 will go again.

This term's class load is better balanced. It's the end of the second week and I'm already no longer feeling behind in everything all the time like I did last term. After I finished my morning errands yesterday, I spontaneously decided to drop by the aquarium.
It's so peaceful in the offseason.

Dunno about before but, it is now!
As the sun sets into the ocean, the sky is painted with deep vibrant orange as dark clouds come in from the south. A group of sea rocks are mostly submerged near the center of the photo as people walk past on the sandy beach, presumably enjoying the sunset. (Photo taken from the edge of a cliff.) A beautiful blue sky covered with a thin layer of clouds above a massive columnar basalt rock formation on the right of the photo with several smaller ones trailing out to the left into the foamy Pacific ocean on a slightly hazy, but bright sunny day. The edge of an unstable sandstone beach cliff can be seen in the foreground as the photo was taken from behind a safety fence where an old beach access trail used to begin.
