Agreed. There was a lot of M. fuliginosa in the same churchyard, and comparisons were made. 👍

Potentially, it appears to have arrived in the UK via Spain, either spores on the wind or direct transfer of material. It’s seen as an invasive, so that does temper my urge to see it very slightly, although it still looks beautiful.
