I feel haunted by the ghosts of history too sometimes when I'm hunting beer. More so in Central Europe than at home, for some reason.

Might as well scrap it. The market has spoken. People would rather drink mint chocolate flavoured sludge from a clown brewery.

I can take or leave wheat beer, but the tavern is delightful.

Don't have too much beer in the evening, because you need to be up bright and early for your Weisswurst breakfast at Schneider and then a relaxing mid-morning Dunkel at Hofbräu before it gets busy. Then a wander round the Viktualienmarkt.

Does it help to regard these places as the surviving remnants of things that were once common all over beer-drinking Europe?
